12.25.02Yay! Bill and I decided to go on the SXU Alumni Tour to Ireland and we both actually got vacation time to go.
Well, I finally did it... I redesigned my site. To make life simpler, it's really just going to be one page with lots on it, links to some photo journlals, and of course my recipes.
I am the Information Systems Director at Mother McAuley High School. I also am an adjunct professor at Daley College in the Computer Information Systems department. I have also been an adjunct professor at Saint Xavier University. Previously, I was the Internet Coordinator for the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
Bill Rogers and I were married in June, 2003 in Saint Xavier's McDonough Chapel. It was a wonderful day as I walked down the aisle, well, OK, hobbled down the aisle since I broke my ankle two days earlier. We had an elegant reception on campus with all our closest friends and family.
I worked on the 30 year reunion for the Oak Lawn Community High School class of 1973. Check out the web site I made at www.olchs73.com.
Currently I serve on the SXU Alumni Board.
And no web site of mine is complete without my stinky castle paper, which I wrote for an English class as an undergrad.
Learning new things is never an easy task. But going to puppy obedience school sure has opened our eyes.
Every day I teach people about technology - how to design web a page, how to build e-commerce sites, how to search the web, how to get rid of viruses... Sometimes the concepts are difficult and other times the learner is the difficult one.
In the instance of puppy school, I fear we may be the latter!
Our class is very diverse - from a HUGE black Great Dane all the way down to a very small (and frightened) white Chihuahua. And the people who own the dogs are just about as diverse as the puppies.
Our first week was traumatic for both dog and husband. They got yelled at - A LOT! So much so, that one of our classmates remarked the following week that she was surprised to see we came back.
It isn't that the puppy is so bad - he's just very energetic. And it isn't that Bill doesn't follow instructions, it's that the teacher gives SO MANY and has him looking away when she gives them.
The second week of class Bailey was much better. He has a prob;em going down and staying down. The teacher told Bill to put his foot on the buckle of the leash. As Bill's foot hit the buckle, the dog shot up, the buckle opened and Bailey was on the loose! He ran around the room until Bill caught him.
I feel like the mom of the kid who has been marked as the class clown.
